Nysc Trains Certification Officers

The National Youth Service Corps has held a training workshop to enhance the performance of its Certification officers.
The workshop, which has the theme: "Effective Certificate Management in NYSC Using ICT Platform," is being held in Kaduna.
Addressing participants at the opening ceremony today, the Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, reminded them of the sensitive nature of their schedules, especially as regards handling of documents, which are critical to the operations of the Scheme.
Kazaure said the training was to equip them with requisite knowledge and skills to enhance their efficiency.
"The workshop also aims at providing participants with the platform for initiating new ideas that will assist in the transition of our certification process to a fully automated one in line with the current computerization.
"The theme of the workshop, which is "Effective Certificate Management in NYSC Using ICT Platform," was deliberately chosen to reflect the successes recorded through this transition and chart a new course," he said.
The Director-General asked participants to come up with resolutions that would assist in consolidating the gains made in the digitization process.
He also assured them that the Management would continue to provide the enabling environment for the effective discharge of their responsibilities.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Director of Corps Certification, Alhaji Aliyu Taura, said all the Scheme's certification processes had been computerized, adding that the automation of the production commenced in the last quarter of 2011.

"Besides the Certificate of National Service and Exemption Certificate, Letters of Exclusion can be generated and issued online," he said
