The NYSC Director General, Brig. Gen. J.B Olawumi visited the
NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp ,Dakingari on 4th of
December 2015. On arrival at the camp, he was received by the Chairman, NYSC
Governing Board, Alh. Hussaini M. Mungadi, the State Coordinator, Mr. E. O.
Olawale, and other Camp officials whereupon he inspected the Guard of Honor.
The NYSC
Dance and Drama troupe welcomed him with dances and songs, before being led by
the NYSC chairman Governing Board to inspect the camp facilities. He expressed
delight at the facilities put in place by the State Government and hoped for
more of the same, adding that the Kebbi Camp was the best he’s visited so far.
A Tug of war competition was held in his honor.
The
Director General in his address, urged corps members to be disciplined and
patient in the pursuit of their goals and careers, adding that achieving
greater heights in the future required discipline. He encouraged camp
management to keep up the good work, and prayed that Kebbi state would be full
of awards and not bad reports. He further admonished corps members to identify
with their host communities through the CDS programmes as it brings numerous
profits.
The
D.G ably represented by the Director, Special Duties NDHQ, Mr. Yakubu Jok,
presented cash gifts to the Music and Band, Dance and Drama group as well as
the Man “O” War, while promising to be in attendance at the camp fire night.
The State Coordinator appreciated the D.G for his visit and generous assessment
of the camp. The vote of thanks was given by Corps member, Olivia Akponehvwe.
