Meningitis and Malaria are prevalent diseases in Nigeria and have constituted immensely to the morbidity and mortality rate, yet these diseases can be prevented and treatable .
It is on this premise that 'World Malaria day' was instituted by the World Assembly at its 60th session in 2007 and 25th of April annually was picked to commemorate and create awareness about malaria.
It also provides opportunity for the global development partners and communities to intensify efforts aimed at providing access to affordable, safe and effective anti malaria intervention for all population.

With the 2017 theme "END MALARIA FOR GOOD", the 2016 Batch 'B 'Medical and Health CDS BIRNIN KEBBI in collaboration with African achievers Award joined the globe to commemorate the world malaria day 25th of April, 2017.
The community also received free Health care services ,free testings, consultations, and also Antimalarial drugs were given to those who were tested positive to malaria this selfless gesture was done under the leadership of the President Medical and Health CDS group Corps member Sanni Ismaila Bolorunduro (RHIM) KB/16B /0389 with the cooperation of all Corps medical personnel and other corps members of medical and Health CDS who united to source funds for this sensitisation.
The president of the group, challenged and motivated the people of the community to give Health topmost priority as Health is WEALTH He appreciated the entire Medical and Health CDS of BIRNIN KEBBI for working as a team in achieving the outreach and to the Community at large for receiving them and accepting to access medical care.
The Assistant Director Community development service Alhaji Shuaibu Moriki spoke extensively on the essence of community development service and urged the Medical and Health CDS to do more ,he appreciated the CDs group for such a successful and elaborate outing .
Also , The representative of the District Head Umaru Ahmad, mni appreciated the Medical and Health CDS to have found them worthy of the outreach.
