Delegation to the NYSC Kebbi State Coordinator Alh. Lawal Turawa by Executive Gov. Kebbi State

His Excellency The Executive Governor Kebbi State Senator.Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Matawallen Gwandu), sent a delegation to The NYSC Kebbi State Coordinator Alh. Lawal Turawa. The delegation was led by the special Assistant to the Governor on Scholarship and NYSC matters Alh.Murtala Musa Habibu. Alh. Habibu said His Excellency created the office for certain reasons among which brought them to the secretariat. Issues raised by His Excellency's S.A on NYSC matters included: Providing adequate and sufficient accommodation for corps members, Payment of State allowance to Corps Members, mutual relationship between the NYSC and His office. Other very crucial issues raised by the S.A include: Partnership with National Health insurance Scheme (NHIS) for the corps members in Kebbi State which he said needs to be done and will be soonest in order to ease access to medical care for corps members when they have health challenges, Paternership with NYSC on RICE production whereby C/Ms will be trained on how to farm rice, engaging C/Ms in Tourism within the state.

Alh. Habibu said His Excellency is very much passionate about the corps members, thus the creation of The Office of The Special Assistant to The Governor on NYSC matters. Reacting, The NYSC Boss Alh. Lawal Turawa was highly elated and greatful to His Excellency for sending a sizeable entourage which once again has shown His Excellency's commitment to the development of Youth especially Youth Corps members. Turawa assured The S.A that NYSC is ever ready to synergize with the State His Office as long as it doesn't contravene the rules and regulations of the scheme. 

He outlined the statutory responsibilities of the State Government to the Special Adviser on matters pointing out that he sees the commitment of His Excellency The Executive Governor of Kebbi State during the just concluded 2016 Batch 'B' stream swearing in ceremony while he delivered his Speech. He also explained that NYSC National Directorate Headquarters is already working on certain issues raised eg it has supplied rice farming machineries to the secretariat, also plans are in the pipe line to incorporate NHIS into the scheme.
